A continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine is a device used to treat sleep apnea and other breathing disorders. It consists of the following main parts:

  1. Air compressor: This is the motor that powers the device and generates the pressurized air that is delivered to the patient.

  2. Air filter: This is a removable component that filters out dust and other contaminants from the air before it is delivered to the patient.

  3. Humidifier: This optional component adds moisture to the air to help reduce dryness and irritation in the nasal passages.

  4. Tubing: This flexible hose connects the air compressor to the mask or nasal pillows.

  5. Mask or nasal pillows: This is the part of the device that delivers the pressurized air to the patient. It can be a full face mask, nasal mask, or nasal pillows.

  6. Headgear: This is the strap or harness that secures the mask or nasal pillows to the patient's head.

  7. Control panel: This is the part of the device that allows the user to adjust the settings, such as the pressure level and humidification level. It may also have a display screen that shows the current settings and other information.
